Why You'll Love Them
100% Merino Wool Body
The main fabric is 100% extra-fine merino wool — not a merino/polyester blend. Soft against the skin, naturally breathable, and built for movement.
New Zealand Merino Wool
Our merino wool originates in New Zealand, one of the world's best-known regions for fine merino wool production.
RWS-Certified Wool
The wool used in our new production is RWS certified under the Responsible Wool Standard, which establishes requirements around animal welfare, land management, and traceability through the wool supply chain.
OEKO-TEX® Certified
The material is OEKO-TEX® certified, providing an additional standard for textile testing and restricted harmful substances.
19.5 Micron Extra-Fine Merino
At 19.5 microns, the wool fibers are exceptionally fine — creating a much softer next-to-skin feel than the coarse wool many people associate with traditional wool clothing.
250 GSM Fabric
A substantial 250 GSM fabric weight gives the shorts enough structure for training and everyday wear while maintaining the natural breathability and temperature-regulating characteristics of merino.
Naturally Odor Resistant
Merino wool naturally manages odor differently from conventional synthetic athletic fabrics, helping the shorts stay fresher between washes.
Temperature Regulating
Merino helps your body remain comfortable across changing conditions — whether you're warming up, training, traveling, or simply moving throughout the day.
No Synthetic Liner
There is no polyester or nylon performance liner sitting against your body. The merino short itself becomes the primary next-to-skin layer.
5-Inch Athletic Inseam
A 5-inch inseam provides freedom of movement with a clean athletic cut that works in and outside the gym.
Functional Handwarmer Pockets
Minimal, useful pockets provide everyday functionality without turning the shorts into overly technical activewear.
Elastic Drawstring Waist
An internal elastic waistband and drawstring provide a secure, comfortable fit while allowing the merino body to remain naturally flexible.
Transparency, Without the Spin
When we say 100% merino wool, we're talking about the main body fabric.
We don't believe in pretending every component of a finished garment can currently be made from wool. Small amounts of synthetic material are still used where they're functionally necessary, including:
- Internal waistband elastic
- Zipper components
- Other small functional trims where applicable
What you won't find is a polyester or nylon body fabric disguised behind a small percentage of merino. And you won't find a synthetic athletic liner underneath the wool.
The fabric covering the overwhelming majority of your body is 100% merino wool. We're reducing synthetics wherever we reasonably can — and being transparent about where we haven't eliminated them yet.

Why Merino Wool Instead of Polyester?
Most modern athletic shorts are made primarily from polyester, nylon, elastane, or blends of synthetic fibers. Those materials can perform extremely well — but they're not the only way to build performance clothing.
Merino wool gives you a natural alternative. It is naturally breathable, moisture-managing, odor resistant, temperature regulating, renewable, and biodegradable as a fiber.
Instead of taking merino wool and blending it heavily with polyester to make it behave like conventional activewear, we wanted the wool itself to do the work.
That's why the body of these shorts is 100% merino wool. No polyester body. No nylon body. No synthetic liner. Just 250 GSM, 19.5-micron New Zealand merino wool where your clothing spends the most time against your skin.
Better Materials. Fewer Compromises.
We don't believe natural-fiber clothing needs to mean giving up performance. And we don't believe "merino" should automatically mean a fabric that's half synthetic when you turn over the label.
These shorts were built around a simpler idea: use a remarkable natural fiber, use enough of it to matter, and tell customers exactly what's in the garment.
